I’m not the biggest Valentine’s Day person, but I do enjoy an excuse to consider the notion of love. When I got married, my husband and I only had one intention — to be each other’s soul mates. To be the reflection of each other, and to make that reflection the best of who we are. To this day, whenever my husband and I lose our way or get bogged down by work dilemmas, life dilemmas, friend dilemmas, or kid dilemmas — we always have to bring it back to that very basic intention. And in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, all I can say is that the color of your love is dependent on your intentions. What do you intend to do with your love? Who do you intend to be with your love? Because when you bring the idea of love back to its most basic intentions, everything else is easy.
